How To Install Scripts and DEBs

For scripts (or raw text copied from the source code):

  • Paste the raw code into NotePad or similar and save the file as the script name in lower case without extension.
  • Using SSH, access your iDevice filesystem and place the script file in the /usr/bin directory.
  • Using Terminal or iFile on your iDevice, set the script’s permissions to 0755.
    • For Terminal, log into root user (type: su, password) and type: chmod 755 /usr/bin/scriptname.
    • For iFile, navigate to /usr/bin and tap on the tiny arrow on the right side of the script file. Set the permissions to “Read Write Execute”, “Read Execute”, “Read Execute” in descending order.

For .debs:

  • Using SSH, access your iDevice filesystem and place the .deb file in the /var/mobile directory.
  • Using Terminal or iFile, install the .deb package.
    • For Terminal, log into root user (type: su, password) and type: dpkg -i /var/mobile/scriptname.deb.
    • For iFile, navigate to /var/mobile and tap on .deb file. Select “Installer”.
