At eighty four bucks a pop
I lost my pencil box
. I left it in a lecture hall two weeks ago on Friday. I was excited about the end of school and my boyfriend asked me out (:P) so I wasn’t really paying attention when packing my bag. I half-heartedly tried to retrieve it but there’s no lost and found bin/place/thing, so..
I went stationery shopping today!
I had to go anyway to replace my lost stuff. My friend has a hobby of shopping for stationery, and she has a point, it was fun! … Actually, it wasn’t that much fun. Also, when the receipt comes up to $83.70 and your mom is shopping with you….
My mom paid for everything.
Two reasons I don’t like shopping with my mom:
Number 1: She insists on paying, and let’s just accept for the sake of avoiding an explanation that I can never change her mind if she decides to pay.
Number 2: Her shopping principles disagree with my shopping habits.
One thing is that I can really spend a lot. It’s not that I buy a lot of junk.. *boyfriend’s voice in my head: yeah, right.* Mmm. Well whatever
. I don’t like my mom spending her money on things that I want when she already gives me allowance every month which is meant for me to spend on things that I want.
And I can be really fussy about my stationery.
See, I only use one brand of pen (black or purple ink), and the tips must be 0.28mm in diameter. Each of these pens cost $1.90 and I buy five at a go.
I only use one type of pencil, and it’s a mechanical one that costs $7.00 and its tip is 0.30. My default pencil lead preference is 3B, but there is no 3B lead available at 0.3 so I make do with 2B. A pack of my pencil leads of choice cost $2.40.
My ruler costs $2.50 and looks like this:

It has to be transparent and have guiding lines on the body for precision.
And then there was the printer ink. I tend to binge on printer ink so I grabbed 6 packets of them at $10.70 each.
I took all that stuff because I thought I was paying, but when we reached the counter she suddenly took out her purse and said she was gonna pay! D: And the total turned out to be $83.70! Oh my god!
I feel so guilty.
And when we were leaving, she commented on the way I shopped -_-. Next time I’m promise I’m only shopping when she’s not with me.
The only time I spent like $80 on stationery was when I had Popular vouchers so the stationery was sort of FOC…and the $80 included a $20 book ;x
But then again most of your $$ went to printer ink and which technically doesn’t count as stationery…I think
I wish my mom paid for my shopping LOL She steals new clothes I buy with my own money if she can fit into them -_-
I love stationery shopping
I like those mechanical pencils that advance the lead by shaking. The Dr. Grip and Uni-ball Alpha Gel pencils are my favorites
and I use 0.5mm HB lead (being American heh). The erasers I use are Pilot/Tombow (I forgot which :X) foam erasers! I’m a bit of a stationery snob.
